Amanda Orlando was born in Gloucester and her family moved to Manchester by the Sea when she was 9 and lived there for 10 years before the family returned to Gloucester. Amanda is the oldest of 3 children and her parents now split their time between Gloucester and Florida.  She graduated from Manchester High School class of 1997 and attended Boston College. Upon graduation in 2001, Amanda taught English at Manchester High School where she was also the advisor to the yearbook and National Honor Society. While teaching, Amanda attained a Masters in Teaching English from Salem State University. After leaving teaching, Amanda then began working part time at her family's business, Orlando & Associates. In 2019, Amanda attended law school and went to the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover in the evenings on the part time program while working full time at Orlando & Associates as an office manager and paralegal. She graduated in December of 2023, passed the bar in February 2024 and was sworn in as an attorney in the Commonwealth of MA in June. Amanda now practices at her family's firm which is now owned by her brother, Joe Jr., which specializes in personal injury law.

Amanda has three sons, Alexander who will be 21 years old in November of this year and is a junior majoring in finance at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL; Samuel who is 19 and a freshman at Batten University in Virginia Beach, where he is on a golf scholarship and a member of the Honors College, and Owen, who is 16, a junior at Essex Technical High School, focusing on computer science, a class officer, and the treasurer of SkillsUSA, a vocational competition group.

Amanda enjoys reading, crocheting, playing golf, cooking, and spending time with  members of her large Sicilian-American family most of whom still live on Cape Ann. She was formerly a member of the Gloucester rotary club, where she supported and then led their annual pancake breakfast. Amanda left the Gloucester rotary while she was in law school, and was excited to re-join rotary as a member of the Manchester Essex Club earlier in 2026.
