Michael Grimm

A Graduate of The Citadel-The Military College of South Carolina and a former Staff Sergeant in the US Army from 2002-11, Michael served in the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment - Joint Special Operations Command and the Defense Intelligence Agency during his active duty career.

He deployed eight times in support of the Global War On Terrorism in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a part of the Special Operations Strike Force. He participated in a number of High Value Raids and Missions to include the first and aborted attempt to capture Osama Bin Laden in December 2005. He also participated in the raid that ultimately led to the finish of AQ in Iraq Leader Musab Zarqawi in February 2006.

  His military awards include Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device and two Oak Leaves, Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Arrowhead and four Campaign Stars, Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

After his military career he served at his Alma Mater for 2 years as the Head Lacrosse Coach and Cadet/Veteran Mentor. He then took a position as an instructor in the Army ROTC and Leadership and Ethics Department as well as coaching lacrosse at the Virginia Military Institute from 2013-2016.

While an Army Brat, he calls Medford,MA home, where his mothers family has resided since coming from Ireland in the late 1800s. He retuned to the Bay State in 2016 where he served as the Senior Intelligence Officer and Operations Chief for an Intelligence and Surveillance Platform supporting the US Military all over the world to include Syria during the fight to defeat ISIS, The Korean Peninsula, Horn of Africa and Central Africa.

Currently, Michael serves as The Director of Business Development for Clear Scientific, a Cambridge based counter ChemBio Threat development firm.

He has resided in Manchester by the Sea since August 2018 and is a father of two children, Audrey 16 and William 12 who reside in Maryland.
