Saturday Morning Cartoon League Scholarship
Oct 12, 2022 7:30 AM
The Jeff Morris Scholarship raises money for Salem High School graduates as they embark on college. The Scholarship Fund is designated for a select few Salem High School seniors who will be attending college in the coming fall. The seniors, who have been chosen to receive the Jeff Morris Scholarship, have had exemplary school records as well as a sincere appreciation for the surrounding community. The only other requirement for the applicants is that they have participated in the Saturday Morning Cartoon League Basketball program during their youth. We are looking to you, as a community business, family or friend to help sponsor the scholarships. You can decide what type of donation best suits you. For the Golf Tournament you can sponsor a hole, donate prizes for our raffle, or give a cash amount to the Scholarship Fund. Your donation is tax-deductible. Since the inception of the Jeff Morris Scholarship Fund in 1994, it has awarded over $165,000 to the education of these fortunate young men and women. Each year we have been able to refinance the scholarship due mostly in part to sponsors and generosity from people such as you. |

From Darkness to Light: The upside to extreme trauma.
Oct 19, 2022 6:00 PM
Patrick was involved in two consecutive car accidents on June 15, 2021. As a result he was flown by helicopter to Boston Medical Center, where it was determined that the best course of action was to amputate his lower right leg. After two weeks there, he went to Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Charlestown for another two weeks. There, he learned how to function as an amputee. Once home, he took control of the narrative, and determined how the story would unfold. His experience is about adversity, and how he turned it into a positive. |
