Once again it is that time of year when we are all thinking about the up coming holidays. In the spirit of the season the club has generously donated $1000 toward buying holiday gifts for those less fortunate which will be donated to Pathways for children. Each year I organize the shopping trip for this event. This year we will be shopping early to avoid supply chain issues, meeting at Wal-mart on 114 on Sunday, November 14th at 11AM. After the shopping is over, we will deliver the toys to my office in Magnolia and then meet for a drink and a bite at a location to be determined. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us for one of the most enjoyable events of the year. Send me an e-mail to Aikirob@yahoo.com. Include your phone number in the e-mail in case of last minute changes. All my best, Rob |

Town Planner
Nov 17, 2021 6:00 PM
The Downtown Improvement Committee was formed several years ago to undertake the original Downtown Improvement Project, which rebuilt curbs, sidewalks, and lighting in the lower downtown area, which emphasis on improving safety and accessibility for all users in addition to vehicles. We currently have two major point of focus. One is to be in dialog with the business community on behalf of the Town to identify and implement policies which can support business recovery from COVID. Areas where we have been active include the pathway between town hall parking and Beach St.; providing public rest rooms in the business area; improving outdoor dining opportunities; and identifying ways to provide parking for employees which will maximize street parking for customers. Our longer term project is dependent upon funding to be realized through state and federal infrastructure programs which are likely to be forthcoming, and represents extending the original improvements in sidewalks, curbs, lighting, and accessibility throughout downtown, i. e. to Pine St. along central; to Tappan down Beach, and to the Sea/Washington St. intersection on Summer. Obviously we are always open to new ideas from others and welcome the opportunity to discuss our current initiatives. |

We'll be serving dinner at The Beverly First Baptist church on Monday, January 31st. This is the first call for volunteers. Dinner is served both inside the gym and to go. I served a meal with the Knights a few weeks back an the breakdown was about 50 50 with a total of 25 meals. The plan is to have a hot meal ready to serve at 5:45 which we'll pick up as opposed to cooking from scratch. Volunteers should report by 5 PM and be finished by 7 PM. Please let me know your availability. |

Peter Johnson, WellBoring update: we’ve hit more milestones and are currently branching into two new endeavors: finally going ahead with 55 wells in Gambia (15 new and 40 rehabs) and a project to capture carbon reduction credits with new and rehabbed wells in Kenya, possibly those in Gambia, and a few in Malawi! |
