Welcome to the new Manchester/Essex Rotary Club Newsletter! This will provide us all with an overview of past meetings as well as announcements for upcoming events. Please feel free to share your thoughts to add into the newsletter by e-mailing me: lisa@fornerophotography.com. / Last week offered a very exciting meeting with the induction of four new members: Jason, Tom, Matt and myself. The new club is really growing! / The group sang a glorious rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Cynthia who turned . . . 25? Well, in my opinion she doesn't look a day over 21. In addition, Fenway Park heard of our skills as a singing group and wants us to sing the National Anthem on opening day this year! Let's dust up those pipes! / President Don MacQuarrie announced Lex Towle as the new Second Vice-President. Congratulations Lex! / We had a marvelous speaker (I am NOT biased) named Joe Orlando. Joe is a local Attorney turned Author and came to share with us his second novel in the Gloucester Trilogy, The Bastard's Weapon. This great work follows his first success The Fisherman's Son and follows where the first novel left off. The character of John Palermo is now forced to defend his long time nemesis and onery fishing vessel captain, Joe Amalfi, in a gripping case that will decide the futures of three young widows and their children./ Joe has been hailed "Attorney for the Injured" by the New York Times and written about in many newspapers including the Boston Globe, the Charlotte Sun and The Gloucester Times. Anyone interested in purchasing any of Joe's current or future novels may go to: www.JosephMOrlando.com/ Next week Dr. Joel Schwartz will discuss plans for a brand new cancer treatment center as well as the latest cancer treatments on the North Shore. See you all then!
